The LifeServe Blood Center recently introduced two donor reward programs for 2026 to build and maintain a supply of vital blood products.
LifeServe says one initiative is returning to recognize platelet donors. The blood center adds that hospitals are in constant need of donations as platelets have a shelf life of less than a week.
Loyal Platelet Donor Club (LPDC) participants will be able to earn special rewards, including merchandise and gift cards, throughout the year.
LifeServe details that it is launching a new program in 2026. The Universal Donor Society (UDS) rewards people with the O Negative blood type. The center says there is a high demand for O- blood as it can be used to treat patients of any blood type, including in trauma situations where a patient’s blood type is not yet known.
O- donors will also be able to earn gift cards and exclusive merchandise throughout the year.
