Willow Ray Nabs 1st Place in WCV Home Wrestling Invite

West Central Valley junior Willow Ray grabbed the top spot during the Wildcats Home Wrestling Invitational in Stuart on Saturday.

West Central Valley notched seventh place out of the 17 schools in attendance, with 106 total points. Junior Willow Ray, representing 130 pounds, won her championship match against Harlan Community’s Ellexis Stephens by a 4-1 decision. Wildcat’s Rhowen Miller (140 lbs.) and Elizabeth Handy (120 lbs.) both captured second place in their respective weight divisions, followed by Lorelei Grinnell (105 lbs.), Gracie Sloss (170 lbs.) and Elyzah Olson (190 lbs.) all marked fourth.

West Central Valley will travel to Truro tomorrow to compete in the Interstate 35 Quadrangular, beginning at 5:30pm. The full results from the WCV Invitational can be found below.
