
The Panorama Basketball Teams participated in their 11th game on Monday in Coon Rapids, but came up short against the Crusaders, with the girls losing 54-25, and the boys were defeated 83-45.
In the girls contest, the first quarter was competitive, as Coon Rapids-Bayard held a 13-10 lead. However, the second quarter was huge for the Crusaders, outscoring the Panthers 15-2 to surge to a 28-12 halftime advantage.
Both teams scored a combined 14 points in the third quarter, seeing Coon Rapids-Bayard leading 36-18. The Crusaders garnered 19 more points in the final frame, cruising to a 54-25 victory over the Panthers. Coon Rapids-Bayard improves to 9-2 on the year, while Panorama drops to 3-8 overall.
For the boys game, the Crusaders doubled the Panthers, ending the first quarter with a 22-11 lead. Panorama captured 14 points in the second quarter, and closed within seven points, but Coon Rapids-Bayard responded, taking a 40-26 advantage into the halftime locker room. The Crusaders erupted for their most points in the game within the third quarter with 26, limiting the Panthers to 11, taking command at 66-37. The fourth quarter had Coon Rapids-Bayard roll on to a 83-45 win.
The Crusaders stay unblemished at 11-0, and the Panthers fall to 0-10 on the year.
Panorama will battle in another road game on Thursday in Greenfield, taking on Nodaway Valley.
