The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Basketball Teams gear up for a home Raccoon River Conference matchup with Carlisle coming into town tonight.

For the girls, the fifth-ranked Wildcats come into the game with a perfect record of 12-0 (7-0 RRC), including a dominant 67-26 win against Winterset on Friday. The Tigers have been playing complimentary basketball as well, currently on a seven-game winning streak (7-4 overall; 6-1 RRC), defeating Boone 56-23 on the road this past Friday.

Carlisle is led by their senior point guard Macy Comito averaging 20 points per game on 57 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent from beyond the three-point arc. ADM sophomore Ella Subbert is sitting at 13 points per contest on 45 percent shooting from the floor and has 31 blocks on the season.

On the boys side, the Tigers have won eight of their nine games, and are 6-1 inside the RRC, while the Wildcats 4-5 on the year (3-4 RRC). The game will feature two high scorers of Carlisle junior Trey Osterhaus, who is averaging 23 points per game, and ADM senior Hudson Lorensen, sitting at 21 points per contest. Tiger Head Coach Trevor Mickelson understands the Wildcats may be young, but says they are incredibly talented.

“It’ll be a good test for us because they’ll get out and run, and they can score in bunches, and so we’re going to have to be really sound defensively. And then if we can do that, I think we’ll have the opportunities to execute our stuff and I think we’ll have a little bit of a size advantage (and) hopefully we can get on the offensive glass and get some easy ones.”

The game will be played tonight from ADM’s North Gym in Adel, as the girls begin at 6pm, followed by the boys at approximately 7:30pm. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast on K107.9 KKRF, starting at 5:45pm.
