
The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Basketball Teams hosted Carlisle on Tuesday in Adel, where the girls fell 58-34, and the boys cruised 80-44.
In the girls game, the Wildcats came into the matchup with a perfect 12-0 record, while the Tigers were riding a seven-game winning streak, but Carlisle stormed out to a 17-8 lead. Each team scored eight points in the second, as the Wildcats held strong at 25-16 for halftime. The third quarter is where Carlisle pulled away, outscoring ADM 18-6 to take a 43-22 advantage into the final frame, then garnered 15 more points, rolling to a 58-34 victory.
The Wildcats were led by senior point guard Macy Comito, who finished with 24 points on the night, followed by senior Ella Smith with 12. The Tigers were charged by sophomore Ella Subbert, who had 19 points, and senior Ellis Smith concluding with 6. Carlisle reaches 13-0 on the season (8-0 inside the Raccoon River Conference), while ADM falls to 7-5 on the year (6-2 RRC).
On the boys side, the Tigers were cooking offensively in the first quarter, putting up 27 points, holding the Wildcats to just 8. Another 17 points in the second quarter gave ADM a comfortable 44-21 lead at the half. The Tigers continued to click on all cylinders in the second half, scoring 36 points, posting a season high of 80 points to capture their ninth win of the season.
ADM had four players in double figures, including senior Hudson Lorensen with 29 points, senior Trey Bryte added 17, senior Hudson Shull tallied 12 points, and sophomore Tate Troster finished with 11 points on the night. Carlisle junior Trey Osterhaus charged with 22 points, and junior Hayden Schulte finished with 9 points.
The Tigers climb to 9-1 overall (7-1 RRC), and the Wildcats drop to 5-6 on the season (3-5 RRC). Carlisle will return home on Friday to host Carroll, while ADM will remain in Adel, welcoming in North Polk on Friday.
