Mustangs boys basketball came back from down four points at the half and put in the go-ahead basket with 8 seconds in the fourth quarter to knock down the Eagles 55-54 on Tuesday night.

Pella Christian started fast, but Chase Perrin earned seven points in the painted area to keep the Mustangs close. In the second quarter, the defense had its moment. Luke Lorenzen went to work on the low block to tally six points as the Eagles went into the break with a 27-23 lead.

In the third quarter, both offenses came out firing. Perrin became a midrange assassin while Lorenzen continued to work in the post. Both had six points in the quarter. Gilbert Flagel knocked down a couple of threes to keep the Eagles in front 39-38.

In the fourth, it was a nail-biter. Perrin hit his first three and finished with 22 points, Lorenzen had a good game, ending with 16, but it was Brody Burke who played excellent defense and had six crucial points. Flagel laced two threes to put Pella Christian up by one with 25 seconds to go. DCG went to work on offense, and Burke caught it and spun to the basket for two points to put the Mustangs ahead for good, 55-54.
