On Saturday, the Perry Jayettes wrestling team traveled to Ogden for Ogden Girls Invitational. Cate Erickson continues to shine on the mat for the Perry Jayettes wrestling team as she wrapped up the weekend with another first place finish. Erickson and the Jayettes return to action on Friday, playing host to nine other teams for tournament action.

After starting off the day with a bye in the first round, Erickson faced off against Kiah Villarreal of Algona, winning by fall in 2:51. Cate won the semifinals by fall as well, defeating Adelyn Smith of Pella in 4:31. For first place, Erickson went to war with Adyen Keefe of Osage, winning the close match by decision 4-3.

Cate’s impressive season continues, as she enters the week with a 28-2 record as the Jayettes prepare for their home tournament on Friday.
