A Rippey woman is accused of embezzling money from a business in Perry.

According to court documents, the Perry Police Department conducted an investigation and found that 53-year-old Jennifer Jacobson embezzled $18,400 from Scooter’s Coffee from June of 2025 through November 2025. Court documents show that Jacobson was the manager of the business during that time frame, and was entrusted to remove cash from the business and make deposits at a bank. Police collected evidence such as cash audits and video surveillance.  

The criminal complaint reports that Jacobson failed to deposit the cash and she later admitted to the business owners that she stole the money and claimed she would repay it, but never did. Jacobson was charged with a Class C Felony for first degree theft-embezzlement and was booked and remains in the Dallas County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
