
The Perry Bluejays traveled to Woodward-Granger Middle School on Thursday to face off against the Woodward Academy Knight in non conference basketball play and fell to the Knights 68-56.
The first quarter was a back and forth contest between the Knights and the Bluejays, but the Knights established a ten point lead at the end of the 1st, 23-13. This ten point lead in the first carried until the end, as Perry found themselves down by 30, 61-31 entering the fourth. Gustavo Drahos ended the night with 20 points, attacking the paint and drawing fouls in the fourth, while Luke Adair notched in three straight threes in the final quarter helping the Bluejays begin to comeback. The Knights defense hung on and stopped the comeback to defeat Perry 68-56.
Now at 2-10, the Bluejays wrap up the week on the road, traveling to West Marshall High School for Heart of Iowa conference play against the Trojans. The girls begin first at 6pm, with the boys to follow at 7:30.
