
Coach Zach Beekman’s Greene County wrestling team went 0-2 last night in Jefferson vs. PCM (Monroe) and South Hamilton (Jewell) in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference triangular. The night started with the Rams and Mustangs and PCM won by a score of 58-24. Then PCM and SH squared off with the Mustangs taking a 36-30 victory. The Rams and Hawks ended the night with SH on top by a final of 36-32 after South Hamilton won the last two matches by first period fall. The Rams fall to 1-14 with PCM now at 4-4 and SH 3-6.
Rams going 2-0 last night were junior Brennan Jacobs at 106 lbs. with a pair of wins by forfeits. Junior Jaron Jacobs at 120 won with a fall and technical fall, and junior Roman Sebourn at 150 lbs. with two forfeits. Freshman Kading Winters went 1-1 with a fall, sophomore Tucker Ford won by forfeit in going 1-1, while NehemiahHoyt was 1-1 with his victory being by decision. The Rams were without 2025 165 lbs. fifth place finisher at the Class 2A State Tournament in Degan Miller.
The only home meet left on the Greene County schedule is on Jan. 27 vs. CAM (Anita) and Manson-Northwest Webster.
