Martin Luther King Jr. Day is coming up on Monday and there are several offices and businesses that will be closed in Jefferson.

The Greene County Extension Office, Jefferson City Hall and Jefferson Public Library will be closed in observance of the holiday. Library staff reminds patrons that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. Jefferson residents are also reminded that because of the Monday holiday, garbage routes will be delayed by one day.

Monday’s routes are going to be picked up on Tuesday. Then Tuesday’s garbage will be collected on Wednesday. Finally, Wednesday’s garbage schedule will be pushed to Thursday. Garbage routes will go back to normal schedules the following week.
