The AC/GC Chargers basketball teams hosted the Earlham Cardinals Friday night, with the girls falling 52-40, and the boys falling 61-43.

In the girls game, senior Karli Kautzky and freshman sister Kailee Kautzky were charged with face guarding the Cardinals best scorer, Avrie Fagan, and played the man guard on her all night, keeping her below her average of 16.2 points per game. Senior Becca Littler played some great defense, hauling in a good number of rebounds and getting several steals. Fellow senior Camdyn Richter led the offensive, using skill and technique under the basket to spin, dribble, and juke out opponents to put up some points.

In the boys game, it seemed in the second half that a lid found its way over the basket, but seniors Joe Crawford and Tommy Skram led the way on the offensive, putting up needed baskets. Junior Jonny Kading was a force under the basket, hauling in rebound after rebound, and getting vital steals. The Dub P Apparel Elite Fit Play of the Game came at the%gʻhe end of the second quarter, where Skram tied up the game with a bucket, and drew the and one call. With six seconds left on the clock, the free throw was missed, but Kading tipped the rebound out to Crawford, who threw up a deep three, and drained it to take the lead going into the halftime break.

The teams return to action Monday night, when they host the CAM Cougars.
