On Friday, the Perry Jayettes wrestling team celebrated senior night with their only home meet of the season. The Jayettes celebrated seniors Hanna Sucher and Ayden Erickson, with Erickson battling to claim the top of the podium placing first at 125.

Erickson started the meet with a bye in the first round, then defeated Olivia Youngblood of North Tama by fall in 4;25 in the semifinals. In the battle for first place, Erickson defeated Addyson Bowers of Dallas Center-Grimes by fall in 5:39, reaching the top of the podium to wrap up senior night.

The Jayettes prepare for the conference tournament on Friday, traveling to Saydel High School with the action set to begin at 5pm.
