Mustangs boys basketball hosts the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars in a non-conference battle on Monday night.

The Jaguars are 2-3 in their last five games, including two in a row to drop them to 3-8 on the season. Centennial is coming off a game against #2 Waukee Northwest, where the Wolves walloped them in Ankeny. Their leading scorer is junior Hunter Runchey, and he continued his good year with 17 points on Friday night at home against Northwest.

The Mustangs lost a close game to #5-ranked Pella on Friday night that snapped a three-game win streak. They are now 6-4(3-2) and sit behind the Dutch and Norwalk in the Little Hawkeye. The game was tied 35 all going into the final quarter, but the DCG offense struggled from the field. The Mustangs’ leading scorer, Chase Perrin, was uncharacteristically quiet with only 10 points in the night.

DCG will look to get back on track tonight inside the Meadows Main Gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:15 pm. You can catch the action on KDLS 99.7 FM, 1310 AM, and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
