The Greene County Libraries Association is doing something a little bit different with their first Author Talk Series of 2026.
GCLA President Alan Robinson says their featured individual is a national bestselling author Heather Gudenkauf, and she will be shown virtually through Zoom, at watch parties in all six county libraries this Thursday from 6-7:30pm. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the previous Author Talks have had the speakers visit in-person, but due to the popularity of Gudenkauf, she wouldn’t be available to do that until 2028.
Robinson states that Gudenkauf typically writes suspense, psychological thrillers, and mystery novels, often set in small-town settings. He points out that she just published another book called, “The Perfect Hosts” about a gender reveal party that goes horribly wrong and leads to a murder investigation.
Jefferson Library Director Jane Millard explains that Thursday’s virtual watch party will include Gudenkauf talking about her 11 books, being a life-long reader and the importance of literacy and libraries within their communities. She encourages anyone with interest to attend this free event.
“I’ve had the occasion to listen to Heather other times during my time in the library world and she is so positive, so uplifting and she is a great author.”
Robinson adds that this program is part of Greene County Reads, a countywide book discussion program. It is sponsored by GCLA and the Greene County Board of Supervisors.
