The Panorama Basketball Teams hit the road on Monday to Ankeny Christian High School, as the girls won their fourth game at 47-36, and the boys lost 76-50 in a non-conference battle.
In the girls contest, the first half was close, as the Panthers took a four-point lead into the halftime break, 20-16. Both teams tallied more points in the second half, with Panorama outscoring Ankeny Christian 27-20 to secure a 47-36 victory for their fourth win.
Leading the way for the Panthers was sophomore Ashley Crees with 13 points, followed by freshman Ines Gimeno-Perez with 11, senior Morgan Crees had 9 points, and freshman Lexi Galvin contributed with 8 points. Panorama improves to 4-10 on the season, while Ankeny Christian falls to 6-7 overall.
On the boys side, the Eagles were able to capture 38 first half points, to lead by 14 at the break. Panorama and Ankeny Christian scored a combined 32 points in the third quarter, but the Eagles still held a 56-38 advantage going into the fourth, then rolled their way to a 76-50 win.
The Panthers drop to 1-12 on the season, and the Eagles climb to 12-3 overall. Ankeny Christian will host Moulton-Udell tonight, while Panorama will welcome West Central Valley into Panora tonight, starting with girls at 6pm.
