The Greene County School District is offering a presentation to the public about an issue that happens in multiple settings.

The district is bringing in an internationally recognized speaker, Robert Hackenson Jr. with Dynamic Influence presenting, “From the Playground to the Screen: Addressing Conflict, Bullying and Cyberbullying” next Thursday, January 29th from 5:30pm-6:30pm in the Greene County High School auditorium.

Superintendent Brett Abbotts tells Raccoon Valley Radio the administrative team has talked about the need to educate students, parents and themselves around bullying and the impact of it to gain a truer understanding of what is considered bullying and what isn’t. He states that while there are policies and practices in place to address this issue as it gets brought up, they want to make sure that everyone who attends knows what exactly is bullying and how families can be a part of their support system.

The district says, Hackenson Jr. will go over tips on coaching their child through a conflict, teaching the difference between a conversation versus a debate, creating an action plan with the child, among other things. Additionally, Abbotts notes that there will be student presentations taking place with Hackenson Jr. next Thursday and Friday at each of the three buildings.
