A search firm has been hired by the Perry School Board to assist with the hiring process of a new superintendent.

The Board accepted the June 2026 retirement of Superintendent Clark Wicks at the January 12 meeting. President Linda Andorf says the selection of a school superintendent is one of the most important responsibilities of a school board. She adds that the Board is committed to hiring a superintendent who shares the values of the district and meets the needs of the students, staff and community.

The Board met in a work session on January 19 to interview three search firms. The Board selected Grundmeyer Leader Service to assist with the recruiting and hiring process of the next school superintendent. GLS has previously worked with the Perry district on principal searches.

The Board will work with GLS to begin the search process immediately. Andorf details that the Board’s anticipated timeline will be to announce a new superintendent in March.

She adds that a variety of opportunities for community members to provide input through surveys and focus groups will be announced in the coming days.
