Students from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Perry High Schools will be participating in a district competition tomorrow.
ADM Speech Coach Jacque Seidl says 65 students will compete in 17 events during the Iowa High School Speech Association District Large Group Speech Contest. Students will be competing in Reader’s Theatre, Choral Reading, Ensemble Acting, Short Film, Radio News Broadcasting, Group Improvisation, Musical Theatre and Solo Mime.
Seidl adds that the ADM students have been working hard and are ready to show their performances to the judges and audience.
Perry Speech Coach Ashley Webb says 18 students will be represented in three categories of Group Improvisation, Musical Theater and Reader’s Theater.
Webb details that the Reader’s and Musical Theater groups are a mix of new and returning speech students, while the Group Improv team is made up of a group of seniors who have been performing together since their freshman year.
ADM will travel to the district speech contest tomorrow in Creston while Perry will head to Des Moines Hoover. The full list of what students are performing in can be found below.
