Today is the Iowa High School Speech Association District Large Group and Greene County and Paton-Churdan are competing.

Greene County Co-Speech Coach Kelley Gray says there are five categories comprising 23 students. The entries include one in Choral Reading, Musical Theatre, Reader’s Theater, Group Improv and One Act. While there aren’t any returning students with All-State experience, Gray points out that they are looking forward to performing and showing off their hard work. 

Paton-Churdan Speech Coach Amanda Tasler tells Raccoon Valley Radio there are ten students competing in Choral Reading. 

Greene County and Paton-Churdan are at Hoover High School in Des Moines today. State qualifiers must get a Division I rating from the judge. The full list of what students are performing in can be found below.
