A look at the Greene County High School Sports schedules for this week shows bowling, basketball, and wrestling all on the schedule. Most of the action is away from Jefferson, although wrestling is home for the final time this season when they host a triangular on Tuesday.

The Heart of the Raccoon Conference girls’ bowling tournament is set for a 9 a.m. start tomorrow at Perfect Games in Ames. Coach John Woodford’s team will join ADM, Ballard (Huxley), Bondurant-Farrar, Carroll, Gilbert, and Nevada for the brand new league’s first-ever conference tournament.

Also tomorrow is the rescheduled Heart of Iowa Activities Conference wrestling tournament for girls and boys in Des Moines at Saydel High School starting at 5 p.m. Greene County will have its boys team in action. Girls’ wrestling for middle school and high school was recently approved by the Board of Education to start next school year. The last home action of the wrestling season for Coach Zach Beekman’s Rams is on Tuesday at the high school vs. CAM (Anita) and Manson-Northwest Webster starting at 5:30 p.m. It will be Senior Night and the Little Ram Mat Club will host a fundraising Chili Supper from 5-6:30 p.m. in the high school commons area. The week ends on Saturday with the wrestlers in Guthrie Center for the ACGC Invitational at 9:30 a.m.

Greene County’s varsity basketball teams play twice this week and both are on the road. They go to Nevada on Tuesday to face the Cubs and to Story City on Friday vs. Roland-Story. Those games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
