On Tuesday, the Perry Bluejays played host to the Saydel Eagles in Heart of Iowa conference play. Gustavo Drahos ended the night with 30 points, leading the charge for Perry, but the Bluejays fell to the Eagles 87-60.

Saydel took the lead early as senior point guard Gage Moreno just could not be stopped, as he ended the game with 53 points alone. The Bluejays and Drahos looked to battle back, but were only held to seven points in the first quarter. Coming off the bench in the second quarter, as Alexis Rivera scored five quick points to bring life to the Perry offense, scoring 16 points in the second, cutting down the Eagles lead to only 11 points. In the second half, Drahos exploded on the floor, ending the night with 30 points to help Perry keep the comeback alive but the Bluejays fell short in the end 87-60.

Now at 3-12 overall and 3-10 in conference play, the Bluejays wrap up the week on Thursday traveling to Woodward-Granger High School to face off against the Hawks in Heart of Iowa conference play. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm with coverage on KDLS beginning at 5:45.
