
The Perry Jayettes basketball team bounced back in the fourth quarter to secure their second conference win of the season against the Saydel Eagles on Tuesday night, defeating the Eagles by four, 43-39.
The Jayettes came out strong in the first quarter, with Lily Myers leading the charge for Perry scoring nine of the Jayettes 11 points in the first quarter to hold onto a 11-6 going into the second. Both teams scored 10 in the second quarter, putting the Jayettes ahead 21-16. Coming back from the break, the Eagles responded in kind taking the lead entering the fourth quarter, 30-27. In the fourth, the Myers continued to lead Perry ahead, guiding the Jayettes to victory in the final seconds 43-39 with Myers leading the charge with 30 points.
Now at 4-12 overall and 2-11 in conference play, the Jayettes return to action on Thursday, traveling to Woodward-Granger High School for Heart of Iowa conference play. Tip off is scheduled for 6pm with coverage on KDLS beginning at 5:45pm.
