The Panorama Basketball Teams hosted Madrid on Tuesday, with the girls winning 49-39, and the boys lost 93-53.

In the girls contest, the Panthers stormed out to 33 first half points, limiting the Tigers to just 14 to take a comfortable lead into halftime. The offense was much better for Madrid in the second half, garnering 25 points, but 16 more points from Panorama was enough to hold off the Tigers to win 49-39.

Panthers’ senior Morgan Crees, sophomore Ashley Crees, and junior Nerea Gimeno-Perez all tallied 11 points individually, combining for 33 as a unit. Madrid falls to 8-8 on the season, while Panorama improves to 6-12 overall.

On the boys side, the first quarter was close, as Madrid held a 16-15 lead. However, the Tigers racked off 28 points in the second quarter to take a 44-28 advantage into halftime. Another 22 points from Madrid in the third quarter had them with a 66-43 lead, then would capture 27 more points in the fourth quarter to roll 93-53.

The Tigers climb to 12-4 on the year, and the Panthers drop to 1-16 overall. Madrid will travel to Earlham on Friday, while Panorama will hit the road to Woodward to face Woodward-Academy on Friday.
