The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board recently approved next year’s school calendar.
Superintendent Greg Dufoe says the calendar will look familiar.
“The best way I can describe our school calendar is that it looks a lot like our current calendar this year. A lot of the elements of our current school calendar are in this one, which really is a sign that a lot of folks like our calendar. We put our draft calendar out for feedback from parents and staff and we received very few comments other than thumbs up and thank you.”
He adds that the first day of the 2026-27 school year will be August 24 and the last day is slated for May 27. Within those two periods, Dufoe says the calendar exceeds the 1,080 hours of required attendance. He details that translates to 176 days of actual student attendance.
Other key dates to note include Thanksgiving break from November 25-29, Winter break from December 23 to January 3, Spring break from March 12-21 and commencement on May 23.
