Dallas County officials recently completed the redistricting process to expand the Board of Supervisors from three to five members.

The Board says the process was completed following approval from the Iowa Secretary of State’s Office.

The Board adds that the expansion was approved by almost 67% of voters in November 2024 and will help address the county’s rapid growth by reducing the constituent-to-supervisor ratio and enhancing local representation.

Board of Supervisors candidates must live in the specific district they want to represent, but all Dallas County residents vote in every race. The newly adopted boundaries ensure representation aligns with current population distribution and statutory requirements.

The Board encourages voters to view the New District Map on the Dallas County website to familiarize themselves with updated boundaries before the upcoming election cycle in November.
