The Guthrie County Cattlemen will hold their annual banquet on Saturday.

Board member Brock Robinson says that the event will take place at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds and Community Building. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that there will be a social hour starting at 5:30pm, with dinner to begin at 6:30pm, and after the meal there will be a few speakers from the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and the annual auction.

“The auction will primarily consist of the trophies that will be given away at the Guthrie County Fair during the beef show. From your grand champion market animals and your champion breeding animals, to the bucket calf and the feeder pens. All the different categories that the kids participate in. And then there will be a few silent items that are donated by local businesses that will be auctioned too.”

Robinson mentions that instead of having the meal catered this year, the Cattlemen will be grilling ribeye steaks. He adds that members of the Iowa Cattlemen’s and Guthrie County Cattlemen’s Associations will have their meal provided, and that members of the public who wish to attend would need to pay $30.
