A rural Jefferson man has been arrested for allegedly possessing illegal sexual material involving minors.

According to court documents, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the CyberTipline from the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children, as well as the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force of reports of several photographs of alleged child sex abuse material that were found on a Google Drive.

Court documents show that investigators found the photographs were uploaded in late June 2025 and five violated Iowa law and they were able to determine who owned the Google Drive and computer that was used. A search warrant was executed on December 8th at the home of the accused, 61-year-old Christopher Ciesla. The criminal complaint states that when questioned, Ciesla admitted to possessing the images and uploading them into his Google Drive. Court documents show that Ciesla also told investigators that when Google sent him a notification of the violation in July 2025, the company locked his account and he wiped all of the computer’s hard drives.

An arrest warrant was issued on January 26th and he was arrested on Tuesday charged with five counts of a Class D Felony for his first offense for purchase or possession of a minor in a sex act. He was booked and released from the Greene County Jail after posting a $25,000 surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
