The West Central Valley Basketball Teams will be in Stuart tonight to welcome Paton-Churdan into town for a non-conference battle.

The Wildcat girls are coming off a single game on Monday against Perry, where they walked away victorious at 44-43. In that contest, West Central Valley junior Addilyn Richter scored a game-high of 21 points, followed by senior Macy Long, who finished with 12 points. The Rockets recently lost to Exira-EHK on Tuesday, and trails the historical series versus the Wildcats 4-2. Head Coach Dan Druivenga says the girls are continuing to improve as the year progresses.

“The more experience that we can get the girls to do and work our fundamentals, the better we’re getting. So, I’ve been really happy, especially since Christmas break, of the way we’ve been playing.”

On the boys side, West Central Valley picked up a win in their last game on January 22nd against Exira-EHK and is sitting at 11-5 on the season. Paton-Churdan is also coming off a victory this past Friday, winning 52-47 versus CAM, with a record of 5-11. The Rockets are led in scoring by junior Trevon Keely, averaging close to 20 points per game and its senior Kade Wilson for the Wildcats at approximately 15 points per contest.

The games will take place from West Central Valley High School in Stuart, as the girls get going at 5:30pm, and the boys will follow at 7pm.
