Graveside services for Dennis “Chester” Johnson, 78, of Fontanelle, will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery near Van Meter, Iowa.  Full military honors will be conducted by the Fontanelle American Legion Carlson Post No. 247 and Greenfield American Legion Head-Endres Post No. 265 and V.F.W. Post No. 5357 and the Navy Funeral Honors.

 Celebration of Life Services:  Will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa.  Pastor Tim Hummel will officiate the service.  The Lamb Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at to be www.lambfuneralhomes.com.

Open Visitation:  Will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.

 Family Visitation: The family will greet friends on Thursday, February 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle.

 Memorials:  May be directed to the family to be established at a later date.

Survivors:  Dennis is survived by his wife, Wanda Johnson; daughter Jennifer (Heathcliffe) Riday; sons Joshua (Erica) Johnson and Jeffery (Tiffany) Johnson; brothers Randy (Patty) Johnson and Craig (Stephanie) Johnson; sisters-in-law Linda (Gary) Thompson and Joan (Craig) Burnett; brother-in-law Robert Marckmann; and grandchildren Azael, Ephraim, Silas, Lorelai, Jane, and Cora Riday; and Mason, Kalvin, Stella, Juniper, and Adira Johnson; along with many nieces and nephews.
