An annual winter ride is returning next weekend in Perry and there are a number of ways for community members to get involved.

The Perry Chamber is gearing up for the 49th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey on Saturday, February 7. Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti says they have around 450 pre-registered for the 24-mile ride to Rippey and back.

She adds that residents can still register ahead of the ride for $45 and packets can be picked up the day-of at the Hotel Pattee. The price will increase to $50 for day-of registration.

Pasutti details that the chamber is looking for volunteers to help stuff packets this next week, along with a variety of opportunities the day of the ride.

“We really want to get some local involvement. Come down, volunteer at the hotel from greeting to packet hand-out to registration, at the pit stop to help with the hot chocolate stop, in Rippey for information. There are ways that you can volunteer.”

She also encourages the community to come out and cheer on the riders as they head out of town next Saturday.

“Bring your cow bells and line the streets at 10 a.m. for the group start. We’re calling it the Bicycle Parade and it would be really fun to see so many people supporting the ride in that way, welcoming riders and having fun so they feel good about it too as we send them out of town.”

Register for the ride through Eventbrite or visit the Perry Chamber’s website for more information about the ride and how to volunteer.
