While the cold is here to stay a little bit longer, the Dallas County Health Department offers tips to stay active this winter.

Community Health Educator Natalie Del Vecchio says the key is for residents to find something they enjoy and try to do a little bit each day to keep up their energy levels and improve their mental health.

For indoor activities, she says options include home workouts like yoga or Pilates. Del Vecchio adds that other options include joining a gym, taking a fitness class, swimming or pickleball.

While the winter weather can be unpredictable, Del Vecchio stresses that it’s still important to get some fresh air. She encourages people to dress warmly if they venture outside to take a daily walk.
