Jefferson Matters is encouraging people to sign up for a few spots remaining for a new fundraiser that is happening at the end of this week.
Jefferson Matters Director Matt Wetrich says their Chocolate Walk takes place on Saturday from 10am-2pm with 11 businesses participating in the community. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio the individuals that register will receive a punchcard pass for $10 and visit each of those businesses and receive a free chocolate concoction. Wetrich states that this is a fantastic new idea to support local businesses during the winter season.
“A great way to get out, you know, get yourself moving around the community, not just downtown, there’s other businesses involved, not only downtown businesses. And an excuse to do some shopping while you’re out too.”
The deadline to sign up is Tuesday and you can be entered into a drawing for an additional $100 Main Street Money. If participants fill out their cards during the Chocolate Walk, they will also have their names entered for drawings for other prizes. Those who sign up by Tuesday can pick up their goodie bags and cards from the Welcome Center through Friday from 10am-4pm each day, or on Saturday at The Centennial. Click the link here to register. The list of the participating businesses can be found below.
