Lily Myers, junior captain of the Perry Jayettes basketball team, reflected on the importance of giving advice, praise, and feedback to the team both on and off the court.

Myers reflected on the important on working with freshmen Kate Schuttler and the pressure that comes with starting on varsity as a freshmen.

Whenever I’m giving advice to Kate on the basketball court I always think of how my freshman season was because for me it was really scary and hard to go out there on the varsity court. I’ve been telling her for a while now you just need to get it under the hoop and go up with it and she’s done a really good job lately of taking that and just going up when she gets it and keeping the ball above her and so I just try to like be encouraging because I know it’s scary too like being on the floor with girls 4 years older than you that’s like a big change and she’s in a really good job adapting to it.”

Myers, Schuttler and the Jayettes return to action in conference play on Tuesday, playing host to the Nevada Cubs with tip off scheduled at 6pm.
