The leader of the Panorama Boys Basketball Team outlines the message he’s preaching to the squad in order to keep a healthy energy.
The Panthers have battled in all of their contests, although it hasn’t resulted in many wins. However, Panorama did pick up their first victory on January 15th on the road in Greenfield, knocking off Nodaway Valley 64-59. Panthers Head Coach Josh Beardsley says that getting the monkey off the team’s back was exciting and was proud of how many players stepped up on both the offensive and defensive ends. He explains his strategy to continue to challenge the team on a nightly basis.
“I’m just constantly pointing out the positives after games, (and) just trying to keep a positive thought factor around the program to get rolling here. Just trying to keep positivity so that we can go compete every given night and give ourselves a shot.”
Beardsley emphasizes that the great aspect of basketball in the state of Iowa is that every team has a chance to compete in regionals with a goal of reaching the state tournament. Panorama will return to the court on Tuesday in Woodward to take on the Hawks.
