It’s not too late to get rewarded for reading through the Adel Public Library.
Programming Specialist Lily Schwarz says the Winter Reading Challenge kicked off on January 12 and will run through the end of this month, and this year’s theme is “Reading Makes You Bright.”
She details that the program will feature a bingo sheet and after getting three bingos, patrons can bring it in for a raffle ticket. The ticket can then be dropped into a prize bucket for any age.
“Obviously because it’s winter and it’s freezing, we chose to give away Warmies, which is a brand of super cute stuffed animals that are the kind that you can put into the microwave and warm them up. And then each of those stuffed animals is paired with a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card so go and get a book and then cozy up with your Warmie was the idea.”
Schwarz says residents can still sign up for the reading challenge by stopping by the library throughout the month.
