Those looking to give back can donate jars of peanut butter and jelly through a campaign being sponsored by a Dallas County department.
The Dallas County Auditor’s Office will serve as the drop-off site for the Spread the Love PB&J donation drive throughout this month.
Auditor Todd Halbur says the campaign seeks donations of peanut butter as the pantry staple contains multiple healthy qualities and PB&J sandwiches make for a good snack or meal. He adds that with the recent increase in the cost of peanut butter, families are struggling to afford it and Halbur says that is where the Spread the Love drive comes in.
He encourages Dallas County residents and businesses to help the auditor’s office collect as many unopened jars of peanut butter and jelly as possible to support the community. The jars can be dropped off throughout the month of February at the Dallas County Auditor’s Office, 210 N 10th Street, in Adel.
Halbur adds that the donations will be given to local food pantries to help families throughout the county.
