The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.

County Environmental Administrator Chuck Wenthold told the Board about the first change order that is being finalized with the HVAC project at the Greene County Courthouse was to update the wooden panel doors to the elevator in the attic to metal, fire-proof ones.

County Attorney Thomas Laehn mentioned that an agreement was signed by the Greene County Medical Center and the Greene County Ambulance for patient transfers that went into effect on February 1st. He also stated that he received email communication between Bolten and Menk and the Union Pacific Railroad about repairs to a portion of Drainage District 171 and that he would forward the information to an attorney in Jefferson for review.

The Board then heard an update from the Schoolboy Soldiers regarding the 34 students and teachers from the Old Rippey School that fought in the Civil War. The committee talked about having a play commissioned, possibly painting murals and establishing two monuments, with one at the cemetery in Rippey and the other either inside or on the courthouse grounds. The Board determined that they would need further discussions before soliciting a proposal for placement of a monument with the courthouse, but they did approve a $5,000 Louis Dreyfus funding request.

Next, the Board approved a resolution for UMB Bank to be the paying and transfer agent and note registrar, as well as a resolution to authorize the issuance of a $9,795,000 general obligation urban renewal loan agreement for county road projects. They also approved to furnish Red Lion Renewables and 1 Source Solar with utility information for the possibility of installing solar panels via a power purchasing agreement.
