The 49th Annual Bike Ride to Rippey will return on Saturday and there are plenty of activities for riders and local residents.
Perry Chamber Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti says week-of registration will be open through tomorrow with packet pick-up at the Hotel Pattee. She adds that riders can still register the day-of from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the hotel.
Pasutti says the registration proceeds will support the Perry Chamber so that it can host community events throughout the year. While riders are coming from all over the United States, she encourages local residents to also register for Saturday’s ride.
Those looking to grab breakfast before the 24-mile ride to Rippey and back can enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes at the Hotel Pattee. Pasutti adds that the breakfast is open to riders and local residents.
St. Pat’s cinnamon rolls will be sold at the Perry Learning Center, located in the Towncraft Building. Pasutti says Iowa State University Extension and Outreach of Dallas County will also be offering free hot chocolate and Kyle’s Bikes will be set up for any needed repairs.
“There’s ways that you can get involved in those kinds of things and support those organizations in the same way. Even Rippey, I’ve heard stories of people just driving over to Rippey and going to the community room or the Methodist Church to support the Lions Club and the Baseball Commission there to get a hot meal and just be part of the fun of it. There’s a lot of those kinds of fundraisers happening this weekend, all a part of the ride.”
The Proletariat will provide live music from 1 p.m. to midnight for those looking for afternoon and evening entertainment following the ride.
Register for BRR through Eventbrite or visit the Perry Chamber’s website for more information.
