The Perry Bluejays basketball team played host to the Nevada Cubs in Heart of Iowa conference play but fell to the Cubs 67-40. Perry falls to 3-15 overall and 3-11 in conference play.

It was a back and forth contest in the first quarter, with both defenses battling one another holding the offenses at bay. Perry was held to only nine points, but held the Cubs to 13 for a 13-9 score going into the second quarter. From here, the Cubs gained momentum and never looked back, scoring 19 in the second, 18 in the third and 17 in the fourth. Perry had a big third quarter, scoring 15 points but still found themselves down at the end of the third 50-30. Nile McClintock and Luke Adair lead the charge for Perry, scoring nine points a piece with McClintock scoring all nine from beyond the arch.

Now at 3-11 in conference play, Perry wraps up the week on the road on Friday, traveling to South Hamilton High School to face off against the Hawks. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
