The Panorama Basketball Teams were in action on the road, facing Woodward-Granger Tuesday night, as the Panther girls fell 60-45, and the boys were beaten 61-43.
In the girls contest, the Hawks captured 20 first quarter points to storm out to a 20-8 lead. The Panthers garnered 14 points in the second quarter, but still were behind 35-22 at the halftime break. Woodward-Granger won the third quarter to grow the advantage 48-31, then would go on to win 60-45.
Senior Morgan Crees was the leading scorer for the Panthers with 10 points, followed by junior Nerea Gimeno-Perez and freshman Ines Gimeno-Perez, who finished with 9 points a piece.
Panorama now sits at 6-13 on the season, while Woodward-Granger improves to 13-5 overall.
On the boys side, the first quarter was close, seeing the Hawks lead 14-8. However, in the second quarter, the Panthers captured 20 points to tie the game at 28-28 at halftime. Unfortunately, Panorama would be outscored 33-15 in the second half on its way to falling 61-43.
With the loss, the Panthers are now 1-18 on the year, as the Hawks climb to 11-7 overall.
Woodward-Granger will gear up for a matchup at home versus Van Meter on Friday, and Panorama will return to Panora on Friday for a date versus Des Moines Christian.
