Greene County sends its boys’ bowling team to Denison’s Lucky Lanes today for the Denison-Schleswig high school Baker Tournament. A Baker Tournament is a team only event with no individual scores. Coaches choose five players from their roster and each bowler rolls two frames. The first bowler will have the first and sixth frames with the second bowler getting frames two and seven, and so on. Fifteen games are typically played in a Baker Tournament.

The Rams found out their postseason boys’ bowling assignment. They will go to Starline Lanes in Carroll on Monday, Feb. 16 for a Class 1A State Qualifying Meet. Individuals will bowl three games with the top four bowlers advancing to State competition. There will be 15 Baker games at State Qualifying with only the first place team advancing to State. In addition to Greene County, teams at Carroll on Feb. 16 including Carroll, Kuemper Catholic, Harlan Community, MMCRU (Marcus), OABCIG (Ida Grove), West Central Valley (Stuart) and Vinton-Shellsburg.
