West Central Valley senior bowler Connor Beane details the importance of remaining calm while stepping up to the lane during a bowling meet.

The Wildcats have participated in six competitions during the 2025-26 season, and are coming off a third place finish on January 27th in a Varsity Triangular against Madrid and Southeast Warren. Senior Connor Beane began bowling last year and has learned how to properly throw the ball down the lane from Head Coach Chris Partlow. He reveals how he remains at ease during a bowling meet.

“Try to relax the best you can. If you’re too tense while bowling, you’ll just mess up.”

Beane mentions that if he has a tough frame, he does his best to just brush it off and move on the next one. He notes that his goal for the remainder of the season is to lower his average down to 160. West Central Valley will next compete at Lucky Lanes Bowling Alley in Mount Ayr on Monday in a triangular versus Mount Ayr and Southeast Warren, starting at 4pm.
