
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate an alleged incident after being notified of a bomb threat early Friday morning at the Dallas County Courthouse.
The sheriff’s office says they were notified of the bomb threat around 4:48 a.m. Deputies immediately responded and conducted a safety check of the exterior of the building.
The sheriff’s office adds that no suspicious items were located and no evidence of after-hours entry into the courthouse was found after reviewing interior security cameras.
The courthouse was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure to allow for a more thorough search.
The sheriff’s office details it requested assistance from the State Fire Marshal’s Office who provided a specialized K-9 unit.
The sheriff’s office confirms that no items posing a threat to public safety were found and that there is no evidence to suggest the threat was credible.
The courthouse reopened for normal operations at approximately 8:50 a.m. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
