The Greene County FFA Chapter did well at the recent Sub-District Contest.
According to Advisor Steve Kehoe, Austyn Smith competed in Public Speaking and qualified for next month’s District Contest by earning a gold rating. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that two students received a gold rating in the Greenhand Quiz, which were Rylan Hostetler and Carter McCollum. Additionally, Kehoe details that of the ten members that participated in the Chapter FFA Quiz, three earned a gold rating, including Kaliyah Minnihan, Tatum Tucker and Eli Glawe. He thought the students had a good showing and performed well at Sub-Districts.
Kehoe adds that Smith was also approved to receive the Iowa Degree, which is the highest honor an FFA member can get in the state.
