The Perry Bluejays basketball team traveled to South Hamilton High School on Friday night falling in Heart of Iowa conference play, 68-40. South Hamilton advances to 3-12 in conference play while Perry falls to 3-13.

It was a back and forth contest in the first quarter, as Luke Adair scored the first points of the game from three point range, but the Bluejays had to battle back towards the end of the first as Gustavo Drahos sank a buzzer beater three pointer to bring the first quarter score to 14-12 in favor of the Hawks. Drahos continued to lead the Perry offense, scoring 13 points in the first half but a run in the final minutes of the half by South Hamilton put the Hawks back ahead 29-18.South Hamilton came out of the gates in the second half with a fire, holding on to their lead until the very end. The Perry offense continue to surge ahead with Drahos at the lead, ending the night with 23 points but the Bluejays could not rally back, falling short in the end 68-40.

The Bluejays have their final home game of the season on Tuesday, playing host to the Grand View Christian Thunder with tip off scheduled at 7pm. Coverage on KDLS is set to begin at 5:45pm.
