The West Central Valley Boys Basketball Team hosted a single non-conference game in Stuart versus Woodward Academy on Friday, falling 54-52 in overtime after missing a late three-pointer.

The first quarter was back and forth, seeing the Knights take a slight 13-12 lead into the second. During that next period, Woodward Academy outscored West Central Valley 12 to 7 on its way to taking a 25-19 advantage at halftime. The third quarter had the Wildcats close the gap to four, trailing 36-32 heading into the final frame. In the fourth quarter, West Central Valley took a five-point lead with two minutes remaining, but Woodward Academy would close that final stretch with a 6-1 run to be tied at 46 to enter overtime.

That period was tightly contested, with the Knights taking a 54-52 lead, and having two seconds left on the clock, the Wildcats had one last opportunity with junior Colton Lindsay shooting a three-pointer from the right corner, which was missed as time expired, ultimately falling 54-52.

Woodward Academy improves to 7-9 on the season, and West Central Valley falls to 12-9 overall. The Wildcats will host their final game in Stuart on Tuesday, taking on the Woodward-Granger Hawks.
