Greene County was host to its annual football coaches clinic on Saturday in Jefferson at the high school. Approximately 100 high school and middle school coaches attended the event. Clinic Director and head football coach of the Rams Caden Duncan called the event successful.

Sessions were held throughout the afternoon on a variety of topics ranging from offensive and defensive strategies, to special teams, strength and conditioning, and other topics. 2008 Jefferson-Scranton graduate John Michael Sawhill was on hand. He’s a 2025 inductee into the Greene County High School Athletic Hall of Fame who was a standout four sport athlete in high school who later was an all-conference defensive lineman at Drake University.

Sawhill told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s appreciative of individual attention, it’s all about the team for him. “I wouldn’t have been able to do anything without my teammates, my coaches, and everyone who supported me.”

The Feb. 11 PM Sports Magazine KG98 Edition will feature Sawhill and others from the football clinic.
