The Greene County High School French Class is looking to go overseas this summer for the first time in seven years.

French Teacher Julie Carlson tells Raccoon Valley Radio that some of her students have taken the lead on wanting to take a class field trip to France and some surrounding areas, which she hasn’t done with students since pre-covid pandemic in 2019. She points out that they plan to be in Paris, Normandy and other locations throughout the time in Europe as the students learn about historical references to World War II, architectural periods and art, along with cultural aspects of French living.

Carlson notes that there are lots of real-world experiences that the students will gain including learning to navigate a different culture and country, being respectful of others as visitors in another country, and being good representatives of Greene County High School.

She invites everyone to tomorrow night’s senior varsity basketball games for a fundraiser to sell cake pops for three for $4 or in a bunch for $10. They will be sold during the games and during lunch on Wednesday.
