A check of the sports calendar today for the Greene County Rams shows the boys’ bowl today at 9 a.m. at Perfect Games in Ames for the Heart of the Raccoon Conference tournament. This is the first year of the bowling league combining Greene County and Nevada from the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference with ADM, Ballard (Huxley), Bondurant-Farrar, Carroll, and Gilbert from the Raccoon River Activities Conference.
Individuals will bowl three games, followed by 15 Baker games and all pins knocked down will be totaled for team scoring. Conference champions and All-Conference performers will be determined today.
ADM is the only team the Rams lost to in dual meets this season and that was back in November to begin the season. Coach John Woodford’s boys’ team is 7-1 in dual meets this season and although they’ve not won any tournaments, they’ve been in the upper division every time.
The Greene County varsity basketball teams are in Gowrie tonight vs. Southeast Valley in non-conference action. Both games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com with coverage at 5:45 p.m. The girls play at 6 o’clock with the boys to follow.
